02/13/2023 - thank you

I think many people simply forget how important a "thank you" actually is.

You can animate employees by "whipping" them or by motivating them - I prefer the latter. Even though I mentioned it in the Twitter post - I would like to thank Ankur Vaid (MGP-Project)!

The statement: "It doesn't matter where someone comes from" is so wrong (unfortunately) - so I feel it is a duty to thank someone where you partly know the circumstances, the country or the conditions.

I had, and yes this is a prejudice, only bad experience with other IT service providers from India and then I got to know Ankur.

With Ankur, however, it was somehow different. Even though we only worked together briefly on a project, I was able to get to know him a little better. I had taken over a project for a short time and had absolutely no idea. Now I had to somehow translate what was required of me (the topic, because the requirements were partly confuse, if you have never done this before) to even understand what the requirements are.

Without hesitation, Ankur got to work on it and wasn't above correcting me when I made the mistake. I have often seen people rather make the mistake and bluntly implement things than disagree.

I wrote a thank you email to his boss afterwards because on the one hand he saved my ass and on the other hand I wanted to give something back.

Conclusion: Don't be too shy to just say thank you seriously.
